Pure texture replacer mods are generally compatible with everything and can be added or removed mid-playthrough. This mod list is somewhat light on texture mods because I like the vanilla aesthetics of Intelligent Textures and that's why this is the baseline and not much else is added. Feel free to install any texture replacer at will.

Texture packs

Intelligent Textures Replaces almost all textures in the vanilla game and its expansions with high resolution AI upscales.

  • Files to install:

Telvanni Bump Maps This replaces the Telvanni architecture, roots and mushrooms with high-resolution meshes and textures with bump-mapping. Some textures also feature a subtle glow effect at night

NPCs

Interesting Outfits - Kinsmer Adds weapons and armour from Tamriel_Data, OAAB_Data, Ivolga's Armored Robes and Danke's Armors to various friendly npcs to make them feel less generic.

Yet Another Guard Diversity Expanded Imperials by Citadel535 Expands the Yet Another Guard Diversity to cover Imperials in Tamriel Rebuilt.

Incarnates Overhauled Makes the Failed Incarnates better reflect their backgrounds. The armor, clothes, faces and hairs on some of the ghosts has been changed, so that now an ashlander wears ashlander clothes, a warrior of the Temple wears Indoril armor, Erur-Dan wears his cuirass, Hort-Leed wears his robe, and so forth.

Silt Strider Replaces the Silt Strider according to many fan arts. Now the Silt Strider looks like an actual transport.

  • Files to install:

Spriggans Glow This mod adds a glowbug swarm around Spriggans to make them look more fae-like and magical. It optionally includes a replacer I made for the spriggans themselves, patches for other popular replacers, and masculine "twiggan" versions of the spriggan if you use my replacer.

Facelift Addresses numerous mesh and textures issues with the vanilla head, leading to much better looking faces overall.

Familiar Faces by Caleb An in-depth yet completely vanilla friendly touch up of every head and almost every hair in the game.

  • After installation, in MO2, go to Filetree:

  • (optional) Redguard Female Teeth Texture Fix -> right click: Hide.

VFX

Mist Retexture Improves the texture for the mist. The mist is now much smoother and more detailed, as well as less opaque and flat. This also makes it play much nicer with SSAO.

Subtle Magic Glow Replaces the "plastic wrap" effect around in-game magic items (those equipped by characters or on the ground) with less-obtrusive versions.

  • On MO2 installation, check the following options in the installer:

Subtle Smoke Makes it so many smoke effects are much more laid back and easier on the eyes.

Logs on Fire Changes the non-combustible vanilla logs to combustible ones. The new meshes are using a glowmap and some UV animation to give the illusion to be actually on fire.

Crystal Soul Gems Adds transparency, glowing effect and reflection to soul gems.

Keg Drip by MelchiorDahrk This mod uses a previously unused keg droplet texture from the game files to add a new effect to select kegstands in the game.

Luminous VFX Atronachs by Anumaril21 Takes the Atronach models from Rotat's Creature VFX Restoration and adds to them the glow maps from Peterbitt's Luminous Atronachs, thus rendering the mods compatible. Neither mods are required for use.

Smoking Yurts Adds smoke to yurts with lit fireplaces

Weather

Dying Worlds - Moons Retexture Makes Masser and Secunda dying planets, where there is no more place for life. Also adds drying oceans to both moons and some greenery to Secunda. Inspired by 36 Lessons of Vivec and stories about imperial сonquest of moons.

Skies .IV Resource Pack Contains the reworked night sky mesh required mesh Better Night Sky.

  • Files to install:

    • After installation, hide all files inside the mod's meshes folder minus sky_night_02.nif.

Nords Shut Your Windows Adds wooden shutters to Nord windows (like those in the vanilla game), which open in the day and stay closed at night.

Wolf Helmet Replacer Replaces the Wolf and Snow Wolf Helmets with a ferocious wolf head with gaping jaws, matching the Bear and Snow Bear helmets.

LeFemm Redacted Adds several changes to the Tribunal cuirass replacers to make them more consistent with their male counterparts.

Imperial Steel Cuirass Tweaks Adds the missing belt to the male Imperial Steel Cuirass.

Misc

Near Vanilla Road Sign Replacer Makes road signs legible. Uses high resolution vanilla-friendly textures.

Dunmer Lanterns Replacer This mod replaces all of the Dunmer lanterns (including the paper lanterns and streetlight) from the original game with smoother, more detailed versions (yet not with a ridiculous amount of new polies: they're optimized).

    • OAAB Data -> Yes

    • Tamriel Data > Yes

    • Ashlander Lantern Style > More detailed (Default)

OAAB Dwemer Lightning Rods If you visit a dwemer ruin during a thunderstorm, you'll be greeted by blinding flashes as lightning strikes the steamstack lightning rods from the vanilla game.

OAAB Dwemer Pavements Many of the dwemer ruins use unfitting cobblestone textures in their exteriors. This mod replaces the cobblestone textures outside of all Vvardenfell-based dwemer ruins with a new texture. In addition to the texture swap, it also uses a "road edge" mesh which helps blend this new pavement into the ruins and the surrounding landscape.

Velothi Wall Art Adds dunmer concept art around vvardenfell on the velothi buildings and temples in various locations as can be seen in some of bethesda's own concept art for Morrowind. Mostly in vivec city plaza's but also in a few obscure places as well.

One True Faith - Saints and Frescoes Retexture Retexture for saints, Tribuns and TT-frescoes

R-Zero's Throbbing Meat - A Corprus Meat Replacer Replaces corprus meat models with animated, twitching ones ones.

Arukinns Better Books and Scrolls Replaces all the bookcovers, bookpages and scrolls.

Bowled Ingredients by Anumaril21 Replaces powder, liquid, and other forms of ingredients that might be difficult to manage with meshes that have them placed in simple wooden bowls. In addition, an extra option is included to extend this to Ectoplasm and Muck.
